Today marks a seriously significant step forward for Carlow GAA. Amid all the doom and gloom the Centre of Excellence is happening now.
Everyone should try make it out to Fenagh for the viewing of the Centre - work on which is already underway.
We can all point up the ills of the GAA in Carlow, we are good at moaning and groaning but hats off to all involved in getting this up and running. There are many good things happening at the moment that will hopefully bear fruit for many years to come.
Having a dedicated Centre to prepare County Teams is a major step forward and will help team managers and teams no end.
An important appointment made recently was to the post of GAA Games Manager. Sarsfield's man Michael O Sullivan brings a lot of experience and youthful exuberance to the position. His enthusiasm is infectious and his passion for the games unbridled.
We wish Michael well in his new post.
