Football League Finals Sunday evening 2011-07-06 21:42:00

The Finals of both the Intermediate and Senior Football Leagues will take place on Sunday evening in Dr Cullen Park and both games hold out the promise of exciting fare.

St Andrews and Clonmore battle it out in the Div 2 Final and this could go down to the wire. St Andrews have been very consistent and very unlucky these past few years - a League win would be very welcome change of fortune. Clonmore would feel likewise. The Bagenalstown side are a very attractive attacking side while Clonmore have shown renewed determination and organisation which brought them a fine win over a Ballinabranna side that had been very much setting the pace in Division 2 for a long time.

It will be a contrast in styles and well worth getting to Dr Cullen Park to see this one.

Rivals of old, Tinryland and Eire Og clash in the Division Final. The hoops are making big strides this year and their involvement with the John Murray radio show has possibly given them a renewed sense of determination. It's made for great radio and full marks to Mick Murphy for the initiative. They showed superb form when accounting for neighbours and reigning title holders Palatine in the semi final.

Opponents Eire Og, were beaten finalists last year, but like the winners Palatine had a very poor SFC campaign afterwards. Both these sides will be hoping that the same does not hold true for this year! Eire Og looked dead and buried against a flying Rathvilly but two late goals turned the game in their favour and in time honoured fashion they managed to carve a win when defeat looked most certain.

It's a great finish to the League - these sides will also clash in their SFC group and both sides will be going hell for leather for this one.

Best wishes to the four teams.
