Carlow outclass exiles

Carlow 3-12

London 0-7

Ruislip, London.

Carlow made the trip across the water to face off against London but unfortunately for the hosts they couldn’t provide a sterner test for our men. As the scoreline suggests this was one way traffic from the get go as Carlow hammered three first half goals to the London net with Marty Kavanagh, Sean Murphy and Seamus Murphy to the fore. Extremely heavy conditions provided somewhat of a leveller as the downpour in the capital saw to it that the game was played in a quagmire. Pat English’s team is really starting to take shape and when Peter Phelan was sent off for an already struggling London side the floodgates really opened. Carlow sit proudly atop Div. 2A this evening but with a trip to Derry in two weeks time the real battle to make the leap out of this level begin in earnest.
